It really really could happen- Too shy
The work is a response to the themed restaurants that blur the division between the private and the public body and space in Taiwan. Specifically the bizarrely humorous and awkward private space of the body that is publicly flaunted through the variety of previous and current medical, sex and bathroom themed restaurants in Taiwan. Although these private spaces are both socially and culturally taboo and uncomfortable, the normally concealed is exploited in common everyday spaces. Now restaurants exist where you can eat out of toilet bowls and body parts or dine with blow up dolls. These false private spaces are establishing new relationships and boundaries for the body.
The work is part kinetic, interactive and sculpture and part art object.
